FAQs

Our broth

How is it made?

Very, very slowly. Bones simmer for 12–16 hours in small batches in Devon, then we gently dry the broth into a fine powder. Patience is our secret ingredient. (Our only secret ingredient.)

What's the difference between bone broth and a stock cube?

About 16 hours. Most stock cubes are salt, palm fat and flavour enhancers pressed into a square. Ours is slow-simmered bones, dried. That's it. And it's high in protein, with up to 9.6g in every tablespoon. Try saying that about a stock cube.

Is it the same as a collagen powder?

Not quite. Collagen powders are usually just collagen. Ours is the whole broth, so you get protein, collagen and amino acids together. It's the full meal, not just the side.

Is it gluten-free?

Yes, every broth. Most are also free from the 14 major allergens (each product page has the details).

Does it contain MSG or preservatives?

Nope. No MSG, no preservatives, no taste-enhancers, no fillers. If you can't pronounce it, it's not in there.

Sourcing and quality

Where do your ingredients come from?

Small independent farms here in the UK. Our beef is grass-fed and pasture-raised, and our chickens are free-range. Happy animals, honest broth.

Is it organic?

Not certified. Certification is costly for small farms, and we'd rather back them than a badge.

Antibiotics or hormones?

No antibiotics, no steroids, no hormones. Basically, no BS.

Is it tested?

Every batch is tested for heavy metals and microbiological safety. If a batch doesn't pass, it doesn't leave. Simple as that.

Using it

How do I use it?

One tablespoon, no cooking. Stir it into hot water for a cosy mug, or sneak it into coffee, smoothies, eggs, soups and stews. Each product page has plenty of ideas.

Which one should I start with?

Want a mug? Liquid gold (Chicken + Veg) or the favourite child (Beef Marrow). Want to hide protein in everything? Pure Beef. Love cooking? Pure Chicken. Still can't decide? Build a bundle and try a few. We won't judge.

Can I have it during pregnancy, or as a new mum?

Yes, and lots of mums-to-be and new mums love it. In many cultures, a warm bowl of broth is a traditional part of pregnancy and the weeks after birth. It's an easy way to get your protein in when cooking feels like a lot (and with a newborn, it will). If you have questions about your diet, your midwife or GP is the best person to ask.

Can kids have it?

Yes! Pure Beef is your secret weapon. It tastes of almost nothing, so sneak a spoonful into bolognese, soups, smoothies, pancakes or porridge. They won't notice, promise. (Takes one picky eater to know one.)

Pets

Can my dog or cat have your human broths?

We'd point those puppy eyes at our pet broths instead. They're made from human-grade ingredients, with prebiotic fibre and no added salt or herbs.

How much should I give?

It goes by weight. Each pet product page has a handy serving table.

Which pet broth should I choose?

Beef for skin and coat, chicken for joints. Most pets would happily have both. Obviously.

Orders and delivery

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes. Free UK standard delivery on orders over £35. Two broths and you're there.

How do bundles work?

Mix and match anything: 2 items save 5%, 4 save 10%, 6+ save 15%. The more you stock up, the more you save.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery takes 3–5 working days. In a hurry? Choose express at checkout for 1–2 working days.

Around the holidays, things can take a little longer. We really wish we could wave a magic wand and make Royal Mail's delays disappear. Sadly, we're still working on that.

I made a mistake with my address. Can I change it?

Please double-check your address at checkout. If something's wrong, email us at info@honestandgood.co.uk within 30 minutes of ordering.

After that it might be too late: our fulfilment team moves faster than the speed of light, and they'll already be packing your order to the address you entered as we speak. Email us anyway: no guarantees, but we'll try our luck.

Can I return an order?

Yes, within 14 days of receiving your order, as long as it's unopened and in the same condition you received it. For hygiene and safety reasons, we can't take back opened products (we're sure you understand, it's food!).

To return something, email us at info@honestandgood.co.uk and we'll send you the return address. Post it back however suits you (we recommend a tracked service), and pop a note inside with your name, order number, email and phone number. Our fulfilment team handles hundreds of parcels a day, so this helps them spot yours and get your refund moving.

If anything arrives damaged or isn't right, email us and we'll sort it out.

Do you sell wholesale?

We do, and we love independent shops. Head to our wholesale page.
